Breakfast Brown Bag: How to Become a Person of Influence
This interactive seminar demonstrates that influence is not limited to title, position, or professional status. Becoming an influential person begins with personal integrity, investment in relationships, and demonstration of personal competencies. To become a person of influence, others must trust, know, and believe in you. You should view influence as something that can develop and leverage regardless of a person’s position or status. This seminar explores different types of influence and the effectiveness each generates. It illustrates influence within organizations by providing a visual representation of how the social network flows within an organizations and compares it to a historic organizational chart. It discusses the need to develop a network of power partners at work and within individual communities. It discusses why competency is important, and why it’s not adequate in itself to become influential. Discover the dangers of influence and the need to place boundaries upon it.
