Change Your Career. Change Your Life. Become a Teacher!
Today?s youth are tomorrow?s future business leaders of Denver. In order to get there, DPS students need teachers in the classroom who can effectively meet their academic needs and close the achievement gap. Not enough of our teachers reflect the students and families we serve, and it?s important that Denver?s youth see themselves in the adults they interact with. As a current business leader in Denver, make an important difference in our community by becoming teacher through the Denver Teacher Residency (DTR).
DTR trains people to become teachers in the following areas:
? K-5 General Education in English and/or Spanish
? K-5 Special Education in English and/or Spanish
? 6-12 Math
Program benefits and support include:
? Train for one year in a high-needs DPS classroom alongside a master teacher
? Earn $10,000 as a graduate student while training
? Earn a Master?s degree from the University of Denver while training as a Resident
? Receive full tuition reimbursement
? Become a DPS teacher following a successful year of residency
