About this job:
Occupational Therapists are SSP's (Specialized Service Providers) that treat students who have injuries, illnesses, or disabilities through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They provide motor assessment as well as remediation, restoration, or compensation for decreased functional motor skills in order to maximize educational opportunities for students.

What You'll Do:

Evaluates students, identifies and documents goals, and participates in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and 504 meetings, providing direct and indirect occupational therapy services as directed.

Coordinates and communicates with teachers, staff, and parent(s) about student therapy plans and strategies that address areas such as but not limited to independent daily living skills, sensory processing, functional mobility, fine motor, and visual motor.

Modifies the educational environment; provides adaptive equipment for student access; and trains classroom personnel to properly lift and transfer students, use adaptive equipment and wheelchairs, and provide other services.

May participate in extra-duty activities as outlined in the teachers'/ SSP’s collective bargaining agreement (this is for coaching, tutoring, or summer programs, etc. for Dept. of Labor laws).

What You’ll Need:

Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.

Current Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License - Occupational Therapist.
