Senior Redevelopment Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Conduct financial, market and contractual research and analysis relating to existing and proposed urban renewal projects.
  • Evaluate new projects for economic feasibility and plan design to determine the need for DURA involvement, and work side-by-side with the Redevelopment Manager to coordinate project evaluation and implement urban renewal projects.
  • Provide technical support to developers and developers’ staff regarding the implementation process for urban renewal projects including research for development agreements, review of financial submittals, preparation of urban renewal plans and other agreements as well as monitoring projects for contractual compliance.
  • Act as a liaison between DURA and developers, city agencies, neighborhoods, and community groups on specific redevelopment projects.
  • Coordinate and maintain agency manuals and project summary sheets on current and past projects and respond to public requests for information regarding DURA’s activities.
  • Review draw request submissions and documentation for accuracy and approval by the Executive Director.
  • Perform related work as assigned by the Redevelopment Manager.
  • Write and present updates on projects at monthly Board and Committee meetings.
  • Conduct sales tax research at project sites to ensure DURA receives appropriate funds from the city.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
  • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
  • Real estate development, civic or governmental and planning knowledge required.
  • Excellent communication and research skills with diverse populations and cultures.
  • Financial analysis and problem-solving skills required.
Educationbachelor’s degree preferred. One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.

Experience – 5 years in a related field.

Software Utilized – Microsoft Office including PowerPoint.

Supervisor Responsibilities – None.

Working Conditions
  • The DURA office is located at 410 17th Street, at the corner of 17th Avenue and Tremont Street providing great access to all that downtown Denver has to offer. 
  • Hybrid work environment (WFH 2 days per week) with occasional meetings outside the office.
  • Requires use of personal vehicle to make occasional visits to redevelopment sites and valid Colorado driver’s license. 
Salary and Benefits
Starting Pay: $93,268/year to $116,585/year depending upon experience.
Position Salary Range: $93,268/year to $139,901/year.
