About this job:
Serves as the first point of contact to the public seeking information about Emily Griffith Technical College (EGTC). Provides customer service support and guidance to a diverse student body to navigate the college. Manages the welcome desk effectively with professional standards, adhering to policies and procedures, and provides general information including, but not limited to, the college’s academics, programs, financial aid, career services, and other non-academic supports.

Salary Range: The salary range for new hires is $24.50 - $25.40 per hour. The salary range for internal DAEOP to DAEOP candidates is $24.50 - $29.45 per hour. Click here for more information on compensation for these roles.

What You'll Do:

Manages the daily flow of the welcome desk and greets visitors entering and exiting college.

Receives and documents all incoming inquiries and requests by phone, email and in-person visits in the customer relationship management platform.

Answers general questions and refers to the appropriate department as needed.

Proactively communicates with prospective students to gather information needed to refer interested prospects to a Career Navigator.

Creates and manages the phone tree and works closely with Denver Public Schools Department of Technology Services to maintain accurate phone directories and numbers.
What You’ll Need:
-
High School Diploma/GED is required.
-
An Associate's Degree is preferred.
-
Minimum two (2) years of customer service, hospitality, and/or retail experience.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as Google Suite.
Knowledge of Student Information Systems (Jenzabar preferred) and CRM software (Salesforce preferred).
Effective time management and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.
Excellent communications skills (written, verbal, and listening).
Ability to identify student challenges and needs (often not vocalized), effectively communicate with students, and provide remediation or in-college assistance.
Professional work ethic with a friendly, personable attitude dedicated to the service of students.
Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new technology systems.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and build and maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff across the entire college.
Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual skills desired.
